How to convert SVG to PNG

1
Add your SVGDrop one or more .svg files, or open "Or paste SVG code" and paste the code from your design tool or website.
2
Choose the size, format and backgroundPick a width — the image stays perfectly sharp at any size because SVG is a vector format. Keep the background transparent for logos, or choose white for documents.
3
DownloadOne file downloads directly; several are bundled into a ZIP.

SVG vs PNG

SVG describes shapes mathematically, so it can be scaled to any size without getting blurry — ideal for logos and icons on websites. But many places don't accept SVG: social networks, email signatures, Microsoft Office on some systems, app stores and plenty of upload forms. PNG is a pixel image that works everywhere and supports transparency, which makes it the natural "export" format for vector artwork.

Which size should I export?

  • Icons and favicons: 256 or 512 px (or use our favicon generator for a complete set).
  • Logos for documents and email signatures: 512–1024 px wide.
  • Social media and presentations: 1024–2048 px.
  • Print: multiply the printed width in inches by 300 (e.g. 4 in → 1200 px).

Troubleshooting

If text in your SVG appears in the wrong font, the SVG refers to a font that isn't installed on your device. In your design tool, convert text to outlines (paths) before exporting the SVG. Externally linked images inside an SVG may also be blocked by your browser for security reasons; embed them instead.

Frequently asked questions

Will the PNG be transparent?

Yes, if you keep "Transparent" selected and choose PNG or WebP. JPG doesn't support transparency, so a background colour is always added.

Is my SVG uploaded?

No. The SVG is rendered by your own browser. Nothing is sent to a server.

Can I convert PNG to SVG?

Not with this tool. Turning a pixel image into a vector ("tracing") is a different process that works only for simple graphics.

What's the maximum size?

Up to 8000 pixels wide. Very large sizes depend on your device's memory, especially on phones.
